CNN reports that auditors have found a "potential Halliburton overcharge of $67 million for dining halls in Iraq." The current explanation is that it's "a billing error" but my guess is that Hillary and her entourage were to blame.

True Lies

From the SF Chronicle:

"After his election, in an interview with television journalist Tom Brokaw, [Schwarzenneger] promised an independent investigation of the allegations. But on Monday, Stutzman said the governor had decided against it."

Why?

"After consulting with legal counsel and advisors, the governor has concluded that given the political nature of the allegations, an investigation would only provide more fodder for his political opponents,'' said Schwarzenegger spokesman Rob Stutzman.

I guess Nixon never thought of that excuse. Clinton either...

There's also some good stuff in the article about Schwarzenegger's sleazy campaign spokesman Sean Walsh and the brazen smear he perpetrated against Rhonda Miller, who claims that Schwarzenegger unilaterally suckled her on a movie set. After she publicized these allegations, Walsh sent an email to the media insinuating that Miller had a lengthy criminal record. The only problem: it was a different Rhonda Williams who had this record, and Walsh apparently knew this.

Now, Miller is suing Schwarzenegger, but the Governor is distancing himself from his campaign spokesman and claiming no responsibility for the incident, even though, as Miller explains, "Gov. Schwarzenegger knew me for two years because I worked closely with him on two films. As a result, he should know that the suggestions that I have a criminal record could not possibly be true."
